I really like the looseness of the watercolour, particularly in the sky. Also, the expression on the goat is very fitting and works well with the spacing of the words in the text. All and all great goat.

I like the composition and I agree that the looseness of the watercolor, both in the sky and on the goat, was well done. Even though there is only a little ground/shadow under the goat, it doesn't feel like he's going to fall - if that makes sense.

I am going to continue with the train of thought here...the looseness looks great. I am glad too, that you are using a colored paper to work on for your finishes. As for the composition, I think I would like to see more ground below the goat. It doesn't have to be a solid continuation of what is already there, but rather more like a reflection of what you have in the sky, where the green kind of grows and moves out from below the goat in a meandering fashion. As for the sketch, I am thrilled with the close-up of the goat head. The loose contour lines are fun and informative at the same time. I would suggest that you include some more of these detailed studies amongst your finishes, perhaps with a few splashes color here and there. Also, keeping the paper type consistent would help tie them all together.

hi! i guess ill agree with what everyone said about the looseness of the watercolor-it definetly borders the daily drawings you do...but i think you could get looser by using a bigger brush, like the little one you did in your actual journal, it had so much more color and was interesting more than the simple palette you have here. iwould like to see more of what youre experimenting with in terms of the "color issues" paintings youve been doing

i really like this loose style. It's very different from the majority of your work that ive seen, but it still works in a fun way.

Kyle, your variation in line weight is beginning to show through in your ink drawing in a getting better each time you do it. the lines appear to be more of a few intentional and believable strokes rather than arbitrary ones. to just enclose a form, and they are giving the goat a better sense of goats mass. I agree with Joanna in practicing with looseness because the application of color could look as expressive as the wonderful linework-and in turn..compliment it . Jamie is also right in saying there could be a greater emphasis put in a small yet vague shadow under his gut. I'm wanting the text to interact with the goat in a different way also...it begins to feel like an after thought upon looking at it for a few minutes but at the same point I think the placement is fine. Agian, like the rest here, im wishing to still see more expressive paint application which we all see in your daily drawings; they are getting close!
